  Sacred Space: Acknowledge and Accept

Have you noticed all the late blooming flowers?  All the harvesting?  What a perfect time to acknowledge and enjoy the abundance of nature, the fullness of life.  May you spend many moments in-joy by recognizing the abundant nature in your own being, and in those around you.

To acknowledge anything is to bring your attention to it.  By most accounts, our everyday experience of life depends greatly on what we bring our attention to and how we feel and think about it.  Awareness is the first step in using free will consciously.  To be aware enables us to make deliberate choices about where our attention goes.  Where attention goes, experience follows.

To be aware of abundance allows us to choose it.  Not simply because we want it, or think we need it, but because when we acknowledge and accept abundance, we automatically generate the energy of it.  Like attracts like in this universe, so whatever we experience as our inner truth calls more of the same toward us.

When we don’t feel abundant, or self-loving, it doesn’t work to pretend that we do – the universe is not fooled by our stories.  What works is to accept how we truly feel or think – and be present with it as much as possible without actually identifying with it.  In other words, acknowledge it as an inner reality that can simply be noticed, rather than believing it is the truth of you and then acting it out.  Inner experience then holds more Presence, calling forth more of the same.

This is easier some times than others.  Yet we can’t let go of something if we are denying that we hold it.  This aspect of free will is one reason why no one can actually heal another.  Each of us heals ourselves by our choice to release whatever has been blocking our path to wholeness and/or accepting the wholeness that already exists.  Unless we make that choice consciously, any healing we receive is unlikely to last.

Presence could be called Divine Essence of Life, or unconditional love and acceptance, or God/Goddess Within – it is the natural state of the heart when not burdened with fear.  Some of us rarely experience it, yet all of us recognize it when we do.  It is an experience of being at peace, at one with self/life, aware of our connection with All That Is.  To be present is why most people meditate.

Every time we bring attention to the Presence within us, or to wholeness, abundance or beauty, or whatever gives an experience of love in our hearts, we awaken more fully to this Divinity Within – and call more of it to us.  Almost all humans have inner pain and almost no one wants it – yet it continues to live in our very cells, until we acknowledge it and allow Presence to transmute it.

It is not the ego, nor the mind, nor any particular set of conditions that relieve suffering, but our conscious choice to face and release whatever is at the core of our pain.  So many suffer because they don’t know how to do that, or it seems too difficult, or they keep thinking the next healer can take it away.  What takes it away is Presence, which is available to everyone, every moment.

So go ahead and accept the abundance of Presence within you.  Then practice being present with yourself, and appreciating the abundance in nature, and notice how it brings more of what you want into your life.  Enjoy!
