CLOSER Than You Think
by ROBERT ALLWYN WHITE
The new year began with some really interesting family and community stuff. First, the cook out was tremendous. Mike Usher cooked all the meats and other diners at the feast supplied the rest. It is interesting to note that no desserts came in this time compared to the usual ten.
Our second meeting was with Jeff Marsocci, a local lawyer who specializes in contracts and other documents for domestic partners, same sex couples, etc. He offered some thought provoking and interesting information. We also viewed an interesting Tom Murray documentary film about gay camping and long term RV living and, then we were visited by the infamous Dr. Bruth.
October will feature more interesting meetings. Join us and bring a friend - new faces are always welcome.
OCTOBER 7: Stephen R. Ham Art Show. Steve is a local artist who will show some of his art and a video on how to say something in 20 minutes that usually takes two hours.
OCTOBER 14: Themed Pot Luck Dinner. Bring a favorite local/regional dish (that means local to this area).
OCTOBER 21: Movie Night. Tonight, we will Del Shore’s Sordid Lives.
OCTOBER 28: Costume Party. We’re having a Sordid Lives costume party so come dressed as your favorite Sordid Lives character.
Can you think of any other virtually free place to go where you can do so many different things with so many great people? So, wipe the lip prints off the mirror, get yourself dressed and come to a C.L.O.S.E.R. meeting.
Take a moment and think about the meaning of the group name and you will realize how many important things can happen when we get together: Community Liaison Organization for Support, Education and Reform.
